‘’A descriptive study to assess the knowledge on organ donation among IV year B.Sc. nursing students, college of nursing, Madurai medical college, Madurai.”
Organ donation is a born to medical industry as it has helped in saving the lives of those who would have died otherwise. OBJECTIVES:To assess the knowledge on organ donation among IV year B.Sc(n) students, college of nursing, Madurai medical college, Madurai.To associate the knowledge score on organ donation among IV year B.Sc(n) students, college of nursing, Madurai medical college, Madurai with their selected demographic variables. HYPOTHESES:There is a significant association between the knowledge score on organ donation among IV year B.Sc(n) students, college of nursing, Madurai medical college, Madurai with their selected demographic variables.CONCEPTUAL FRAME WORK:The conceptual framework of the study is based on Rosen Stock’s health belief model. The model addresses the relationship between a person’s belief and behavior. It provides a way of understanding and predicting how clients will behave in relation to their health. SETTING OF THE STUDY:The physical location and condition in which data collection took place is the setting of the study, the research setting in the study was B.Sc. (N) IV year class room, College Of Nursing, Madurai Medical College, Madurai. RESEARCH APPROACH: The research approach used for the study is quantitative approach.
RESEARCH DESIGN: The descriptive with non experimental research design was adopted for this study. SAMPLE:The study population comprised of 30 students who are studying B.Sc(N) IV year who fullfil the inclusion criteria. .Data Analysis and interpretation: Descriptive and inferential statistics were used. Findings of the study: In present study, nearly half of the subjects (56.7%) were having good knowledge. Hence it was inferred that the data depicted in table reveals that chi-square values such as 7.82, 16.92, etc. hence there is significant association between the level of knowledge will all their socio-demographic variable. conclusion: This study was taken to assess the level of knowledge among B.Sc.(N) in college of nursing, Madurai Medical College Madurai-20. The result of the study shows that there were good knowledge among B.Sc.(N) on organ donation.
