Abstract

COVID-19 (SARS-COV-2) also called Corona virus, was first seen in Wuhan City of China on 31st
December 2019. Later, this led to a global outbreak and was declared as global pandemic. Patient in
the COVID-19 ward needs isolation. COVID-19 is a highly contagious disease; it gives psychological
trauma to the patients and their relatives. So, the nurses should focus on giving holistic care to the
patients in order to prevent or limit the complications and easy recovery. The present study was
conducted to assess patient satisfaction with quality nursing care among admitted COVID-19 patients.

Descriptive study was conducted among 100 admitted COVID-19 patients from G.T. Hospital, Mumbai-
01. Data was collected by using modified patient satisfaction with quality nursing care questionnaire.

Samples were selected by using non-probability convenient sampling technique. Online data collection
was done with Google forms in order to prevent infection. Overall result revealed that, 64% were males
and 36% were females among the data. In our study, 38% of patients from age group of >50 years of
age and 26% from 20–30 years age. It was observed that satisfaction level towards quality of nursing
care among COVID-19 patients showed, majority (53%) of patients had average satisfaction level and
31% patients had good satisfaction level. Hence, we could easily state that satisfaction level was good
compared to response towards poor satisfaction. It was observed that gender, marital status, and age
were significantly associated with patient satisfaction level with p<0.05. This may help in formulating
better protocols and strategy for managing COVID-19 patient in hospitals.
