Effectiveness of Psycho-Social Intervention Package on Social Anxiety and Professional Adjustment Among the Nursing Students in Selected Nursing Colleges, Chennai-Pilot Study Report
Abstract
Objective: the objective of the study was to determine the effectiveness of psychosocial intervention package on social anxiety and professional adjustment among nursing students. Method: quasi experimental design method was adopted. The study was conducted at selected nursing College, Chennai. 20 samples that fulfilled the inclusive criteria were included in the study, the samples were selected by nonprobability purposive sampling technique. Social interaction anxiety scale and professional adjustment scale was used for data collection. Result: The mean difference score of social anxiety and professional adjustment had significant values, showed the effectiveness of psychosocial intervention package. The reliability of the tool was measured by test retest method. The r value was 0.83 at the p<0.01. Conclusion: the pilot study revealed the data collection tool was reliable and practicable to carry out the main study.
