Cinu Abdeesso

Abstract

The Competency Outcomes and Performance Assessment (COPA) model mainly aims to promote competence in academic and clinical performance of learners. It provides comprehensive behaviors or actions which contribute to evidence of practice. COPA model advocates a transition from the conventional method of assessment to competency and outcome-based evaluation. The main advantage of COPA model is patient safety. COPA framework is helping not only the learners, but also beneficial to the educators, preceptors and the employers.
