Study to Assess the Effectiveness of Structured Instructional Module on Knowledge and Attitude of Staff Nurses Regarding Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative

Abstract


Introduction: A study to assess the effectiveness of structured instructional module on knowledge and attitude of staff nurses regarding Baby friendly Hospital Initiative. This study was under taken with objectives to: develop a SIM regarding Baby friendly Hospital Initiative, to assess and evaluate the knowledge and attitude of staff nurses regarding Baby friendly Hospital Initiative and to find the relationship between posttest knowledge and attitude of staff nurses on Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative before and after the administration of SIM. Methods: This study was done in 2016–2017 among 86 staff nurses at KGMU, Lucknow before and after SIM implementation regarding BFHI policy. Results: The results revealed that the structured Instructional Module regarding the 10 steps of BFHI brought significant change in knowledge and attitude of the staff nurses working in the ANC, PNC, LR and NICU.
