Emotional Problems Among Patients with Early Diagnosis of Cancer

Abstract


Emotional problems in cancer patient may affect the ability in decision making and will not be able to use coping strategies effectively. This study aimed to assess the emotional problems among patients with early diagnosis of cancer and to explore the item analysis on emotional problems among patients with early diagnosis of cancer. Totally 30 patients were included in this study and used Ms. Pudge’s emotional scale was used to assess the emotional problems of the patient with early diagnosis of cancer. The study results show that most of them 10 (33.3%) had problems of anger, rage, revenge and hatred. Early detection of emotional problems and prompt counseling and management are very important for cancer patients to overcome the emotional problems at early stage.
