Effectiveness of Nurse Directed Intervention on Cervical Disability

Abstract


Cervical disability is a major common public health especially among office workers. The main factor behind this disability is the increasing numbers is the changing lifestyles. This lifestyle-induced pain is now commonly seen in youngsters with desk jobs and/or sedentary lifestyles. Objective: The purpose of this paper was to analyze the effectiveness of Nurse Directed intervention on cervical disability among office employees. Material and Method: Based on Whiplash questionnaire, the prevalence of pain among 90 office employees were assessed at selected office in Pondicherry, India. Results: The results show that the level of pain, personal care, work and home duties, level of fatigue level of social activity the level of sporting activity level of leisure activity the level of depression the level of anger the level of anxiety and the level of difficulty among the experimental group has been reduced. Conclusion: The study showed Nurse Directed Intervention has effective improvement in pain control and cost effective also.
