Practical Implications—Nurses Caring for Patients with Osteoporosis
Abstract
Osteoporosis is a major health problem worldwide. This porous bone develops due to weak bone density that tends to fracture from a slip or fall. Despite the serious consequences, many people are unaware of its early symptoms, preventive actions and management. Nurses have a major role in assessing, educating and preventing osteoporosis. This article reviews the current updates of osteoporosis within the scope of nursing practice.
