Abstract

Oral health is an integral part of general health. Oral health has also found to profoundly influence the quality of life. It is important to maintain the oral hygiene to prevent many problems like dental caries, coated tongue, bad odour, toothache, tooth decay, periodontal diseases, etc. Dental caries and periodontal disease are the highly prevalent diseases in many populations. They are highly irreversible once they occur. Although primary techniques exist for these problems, they don’t provide total protection. Parent’s level of knowledge and negligence and lack of resources are the major contributors to the oral health problems. As children are totally unaware of their problems, it is the responsibility of the parents to take care of their children.
