A Study to Assess the Effectiveness of Video-assisted Teaching on Knowledge of Newborn Care among Primipara Mothers.

Abstract


This study evaluated the effectiveness of video-assisted teaching (VAT) on knowledge of newborn care among primipara mothers in selected areas of Chennai. One-group pretest–posttest design was adopted among hundred mothers. The data collection was done by self-structured questionnaire on various aspects of newborn care, such as thermoregulation, breastfeeding, umbilical cord care, immunization, physiological jaundice, weight loss, and incessant cry. The overall aim of the study is to give evidence that VAT was effective in improving the knowledge of primipara mothers.
