Awareness on Reproductive Tract Infection among Married Women attending Antenatal Clinic in Selected Tertiary Care Hospital

Abstract


Reproductive tract contamination comprises STI and HIV/AIDS are being progressively familiar as a thoughtful community health problem. RTI causes suffering to both men and women, but their consequences are far more devastating and widespread among women. RTI often go undiagnosed and untreated, PID, ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, cervical cancer, and an increased risk of HIV transmission. Adolescents too are vulnerable to RTIs due to their ignorance of risk factors, inadequate accessibility to services and social powerhouses. For effective prevention and management of RTI, accurate information is necessary and information related to RTI in clear and accessible manner. A study was conducted to assess the awareness on reproductive tract infection among married women attending antenatal clinic in selected tertiary care hospital at Sagar. To assess the awareness on reproductive tract infection and associate between knowledge on RTI among married women with their selected demographic variables. A descriptive research approach and non- experimental descriptive survey design was used. A sample consist of 30 married women those who were attending antenatal clinic in KC General Hospital at Bangalore. Non-probability convenient sampling technique was used. The data was obtained by using the socio-demographic tool and structured interview schedule. There was a no significant association between married women’s awareness and demographical variables. This study emphasizes on improving knowledge on Reproductive Tract Infection among married women to increase their confidence in preventing RTI complication
