Opinion of BSc nursing students regarding online learning during Covid 19 lock down.

Abstract


A survey design approach was used to assess the opinion of  Bsc nursing students regarding online learning.The objective of the study were to find out the strengths,weakneses and  challenges of online learning especially during these Covid pandemic.The study was conducted  among the students of Mercy college of nursing using online platform. A structured questionaire was used to obtain the baseline characteristics of  participants. To get the opinion of students regarding online learning a self administered opinionnaire were used.The findings of the study showed that most of them (65%)  belongs to the age group of 17-20,majority of the respondents were females (96%),most of them(75%) resides in rural areas. And  73% of the  respondents have an average level of computer knowledge.And regarding the opinion the strengths of online learning are ,the learning can be enhanced (64%), different online materials helps to improve the knowledge level (88%), online classes saves the time and effort of students (56%),Online classes helped in gaining knowledge on  technology (83%),Accessing the notes and study materials are easy (75%).Weakneses includes The online classes are difficult to understand (92%) clarification of doubts is difficult(78%),unable to communicate the ideas properly(80%),use of technology in learning is not economical(76%). And lack of interpersonal  relationship between teachers and friends(75%), network issues (85%), health issues(70%), monotous experience of recorded clases (82%), overuse of technolog (69%) , difficulty in data management (74%) are some of the challenges they faced during onlineclasses. Overall satisfaction was good for around 54% of them.
