Life Review Therapy for Geriatrics

Abstract


The presence of a person with a wrinkled face, bright eyes, plenty of love and compassion „an elderly person„ is a source of courage and support to all the younger members in the family. Creating “agefriendly” approach of physical and social environments can have a huge impact on improving the psychological wellbeing of older people. Life review is one of the compassionate methods of reminiscence, guided and directed by an enthusiastic person who listens and provides supportive feedback. Geriatric nursing personnel is in a better place to enhance the psycho-physiological wellbeing of the elderly and take this as an opportunity to work with this special group happily so as to anticipate their needs of health care and their problems, applying strategies to prevent diseases and promote wellness.
