A Pre-experimental Study to Assess the Effectiveness of Planned Teaching Programme on Knowledge of Warning Signs during Pregnancy among Primigravida Mothers in Selected Rural Areas, Panipat

Abstract


Pregnancy is the special event in the women’s live, and indeed in the lives of their families. It is a time of great excitement, joyful anticipation, some anxiety and even fear. Most women sail through it without any problem, but some not so lucky, face various major and minor problems related to pregnancy and child birth. It is a tragic fact of life that in every act of giving birth, achieving motherhood, and nearly half a women dies every year worldwide. Many more escape this tragedy, survive with serious ill health and pregnancy related complication. Although pregnancy is not a disease, but a normal physiological process is associated with certain risk factor to health and survival both for the women and for the infant she bears. These risks are present in every society in every setting. Pregnancy represents a journey into the unknown from which many women never return.
