Effectiveness of Planned Teaching Programme on Knowledge Regarding Acne Vulgaris among Degree Students

Abstract


“A study to evaluate the effectiveness of planned teaching programme on knowledge regarding Acne vulgaris among degree students studying in selected degree colleges Aurangabad.” Objectives: (1) To evaluate the effectiveness of planned teaching programme on knowledge regarding Acne vulgaris among degree students. (2) To find out the association between Post-test knowledge score with selected demographic variables. Method: This pre-experimental study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of planned teaching programme on knowledge regarding Acne vulgaris among degree students studying in degree colleges. Convenient sampling technique was used for the sample collection of 50-degree students studying in Milind College. The present study was evaluative in nature, conducted over a period of four weeks 3rd March 2020 to 10th March 2020. The conceptual frame work used for the study was based on Ludwig Von Bertalaniffy‟s modified open system theory. The tool used was structured knowledge questionnaire, to assess knowledge regarding Acne vulgaris among degree students. Result: In pre-test 6% (03) subjects had poor knowledge, 88% (44) subjects had average and 6% (03) subjects had good knowledge regarding Acne vulgaris. In post-test 8 % (04) subject had poor knowledge, 14% (07) subjects had average and 78% (39) subjects had good knowledge regarding Acne vulgaris. The study proved that the mean post-test knowledge score 15.42 was greater than the mean pre-test score 10.78. The mean difference between pre-test and post-test score was 4.64. Paired t knowledge score is paired „t = 7.261 *p<0.05 is significant at 0.05% level. Interpretation and Conclusion: The findings of the study supported that effectiveness of PTP in increasing the knowledge regarding Acne vulgaris among the degree students studying in degree Colleges.
