Assess the Knowledge Regarding Menstrual Hygiene among Adolescent Girls of Age Group 12–15 Years at Government Higher Secondary School, Ernakulam District

Abstract


Menstrual hygiene refers to the hygienic practices to be followed during menstruation. The objectives of the study were to assess the knowledge on menstrual hygiene among adolescent girls of age group 12–15 years at Government Higher Secondary School at Ernakulam district. The research approach adopted for the study was quantitative approach and the design was survey design. Using non-probability convenient sampling technique, 130 adolescent girls were selected. The data were tabulated and analysed using differential statistics. The study findings revealed that 7% had poor knowledge, 78% had average knowledge and 15% had good knowledge regarding menstrual hygiene.
