Abstract

Psychiatric interview is central to the nursing process and it serves as a tool to conduct the psychiatric assessment. All nursing care provided to the client basically depends on the psychiatric assessment. Hence, nurses should be equipped with the skills which are essential in conducting a successful interview. The current article aims at presenting basic guideline to conduct initial interviews for nursing students.
