Abstract

This study assessed the effectiveness of self-instructional module on parental stress of cancer children through pre-experimental one group pre-test and post-test design. Twenty-five parents were selected using convenience sampling technique. A self-report (parental stress scale) scale was administered to the parents followed by a self-instructional module and post-test. The findings revealed that the mean pre-test stress score (69.92) was higher than the mean post-test stress score (61.08) with standard deviation (4.38) and ‘t’ value of 9.54, which is significant at 0.05 level, which shows that the parents’ of children with cancer who received education through instructional module experienced less stress.
