Balancing Mind Balance in Times of COVID-19

COVID-19 which has been declared as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern, has become one of the major tragedies of this century. It has affected every aspect of lives of masses in almost every nook and corner of world. This pandemic is debilitating not only physically but also has deeper impact on the mental well-being of people. This study discusses the mental health issues related to COVID-19 and suggests some measures to deal with these issues. The change which has come with this pandemic in our routine lives, restrictions on going out, wearing mask all the time, attending classes from home, distancing from physical contacts, home isolation etc. is putting much mental stress on people. Children, elderly, older adults, people suffering from chronic mental diseases, those with compromised immune system, health care front line workers, etc. are at higher risk of developing psychological stress. There is an immense need of dealing with such psychological distress and keeping our minds healthy and away from distress by adopting various measures at individual level as well as at organizational level.
