Sembian Nandagopal

Abstract

Objective: To assess and compare the pre-test and the post-test knowledge score and to find out the
association of level of post-test knowledge score regarding head injury among experimental and control
group. Methods: Quasi-experimental study design was used to assess the effectiveness of reflective
learning package on head injury among 80 nursing students by using convenience sample technique.
Data were collected through self-report method by using self-structured questionnaire. Results: The
mean scores of pre and post-test score of control group were 14.42 and 15.62. The mean scores of pretest
and post-test score of experimental groups were 9.60 and 16.00, respectively. The calculated ‘t’
value of control group was 10.68 whereas in experimental group it was 2.27, and the difference was
statistically significant at p<0.05 level, hence the hypothesis was accepted. Conclusion: Reflective
Learning Package on head injury was effective among student nurses.
