The Basic Physiology of Immunity: A Review

Abstract

When our immune system is in healthy condition, we even don’t notice that it is working to protect us around the clock. A proper and well-functional immune system helps in dealing with many germs that we come across in daily life such as, when we come in contact with pet, other people and environment. In absence of a healthy immune system, one may get infected from infectious diseases easily. The action of immune system is seen throughout the body and works through a medium of cells, organs, protein and tissues. Crucially, it can distinguish between body’s own tissue and foreign tissue. Since the immune system is so complex, there are many potential ways in which it can go wrong. When we are supposed to protect ourselves from the virus from outside, we need to begin protecting ourselves right from within our body by strengthening the immune system
