Abstract

The Indian Amla fruit tastes sour, but it is very nourishing. Both dried and fresh fruits have health benefits. Many health problems are caused by oxidative damage. Antioxidant agents prevent and repair these damages. Vitamin C is a good antioxidant agent. It contains vitamin C, which is nearly 20 times the vitamin C in oranges. Flavones and anthocyanins are compounds in amla found to have numerous health beneficial effects against cancer, aging, inflammation, and neurological diseases. The iron content maintains red blood regeneration and good blood circulation. These components are significant to the human body and rejuvenate for a general feeling of well-being. Amla enhances food absorption, balances stomach acid, promotes appetite, improves digestion, fortifies the liver, nourishes the brain and mental functioning, supports the heart, strengthens the lungs, regulates elimination of free radicals, boosts fertility, facilitates the urinary system, augments skin health, endorses healthier hair, acts as a body coolant, flushes out toxins, increases vitality, strengthens eyes, improves muscle tone and, acts as an antioxidant.
