Assessment Of Knowledge, Attitude and Practice Of Adolescent Girls Regarding Prevention Of Urinary Tract Infection
Abstract
A descriptive correlational study was done in a selected school of Kothamangalam Taluk. The
objectives of the present study were to assess the level of knowledge, attitude, and practice regarding
the prevention of urinary tract infection and correlation between the knowledge and practice. A non-
experimental research design was used. The purposive sampling technique was used in the study to
select 60 adolescent girls. Data was collected using self-administered questionnaire to assess the
knowledge, attitude and practice regarding prevention of urinary tract infection among adolescent girls
regarding prevention of urinary tract infection. The result revealed that majority of the students (37%)
had good knowledge and 23% had an average knowledge. Regarding the attitude, majority (96.66%)
had favourable attitude and 3.33% had unfavourable attitude; and about practice, most of students
(98.33%) had good practice and 1.66% had poor practice. There exists a highly positive correlation
between the knowledge and practice.
