Dialysis-associated Steal Syndrome
Abstract
Dialysis-associated steal syndrome (DASS) is a significant risk of recurring peripheral ischemia. The
main goal of treatment option is preserving the access site and improving peripheral arterial
circulation. It is diagnosed when there is hypoperfusion of the limb distal to the AV anastomosis; it is
commonly present in 1–8% of patients. It is most common in upper limb that patients with
arteriosclerosis and diabetes are high risk. Surgical options will help to preserve the peripheral blood
supply.
