Point-of-Care Testing and Quality Control: Roles of Nurse

Abstract


Point-of-care testing (POCT) is a new concept in laboratory medicine. The use of portable diagnostic tool for diagnosis at site of care of the patient is the basic concept of POCT. It is no doubt that the nurse has to take role in using POCT. The quality control process of POCT use is an interesting issue and should be mentioned. In this short article, the author summarizes and presents interesting aspects of quality control principle for POCT for the nurse.
