Abstract

The present study was conducted toassess the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on partograph in terms of knowledge among The General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) intern students at the selected colleges of nursing at Jalandhar, Punjab. The objective of the study is to assess the pre-test knowledge regarding partograph among GNM intern students, to assess the post-test knowledge regarding partograph among GNM intern students, to compare the pre-test and post-test knowledge regarding partograph among GNM intern students, to determine the relationship between pre-test and post-test knowledge regarding partograph. Majority of the students are 17–20 years of age. Mostly, students (40%) are female, and 94% are unmarried. Pre- and post-test mean knowledge scores of 13.37 and 24.72. Similarly, the research hypothesis was accepted that the post-test knowledge score regarding partograph was significantly higher than the pre-test knowledge score. The difference between pre-test and post-test was statistically non-significantly at P = 00.5, 1.96 level calculated by analysis of variance (ANOVA). Hence, it was concluded that the religion and source of information shows significant relationship with pre-test and post-test score knowledge. Structure teaching programme has definite impact on knowledge of student regarding partograph.
