Abstract

Background: Nursing is a practical related profession. Which need a continuous skill development and practice on the patient for betted patient care without harm. Simulation is a technique or a methodology which is very much essential to learn practical aspect of the nursing procedure. The nursing students can commit the mistake on simulator and learn the procedure from their own mistakes. It is essential that the nursing students must have the knowledge on simulator and its advantages in nursing education. Assessment of knowledge of the student nurses by questionnaire is a good method. Developed questionnaires should be valid and reliable which assess and evaluate the nurses in a proper way. Objective: This study purpose is to evaluate and estimate the content validity of socio-demographic variable of student nurses and structured knowledge questionnaires regarding simulation and its advantages in nursing education. Methodology: The socio-demographic data consist of 9 items and structured knowledge questionnaire on simulation consists of thirty (30) items. The both tool has been given to 8 experts from the fields of medical surgical nursing and one for statistician for asking their valuable in-put and suggestion. Results and analysis: The content validity of socio-demographic and structured knowledge questionnaires found to be excellent i.e. CVI=0.93 and CVI=0.95 respectively. This result depicted that both the tool are acceptable validity. Conclusion: any tool which is developed for the research should be check for its accuracy. Content validity is one of them where it evaluate the tool for its correctness and valid for administration. In this study the researcher had computed the content validity and tool found to be excellent. It is also recommended that the valid tool should be check for its reliability.
