Effect of Planned Teaching Programme on Knowledge Regarding Gastritis and its Prevention among Adolescents

Abstract


Gastro intestinal disorders are a leading cause of loss of time from work and hospitalization. A quasi-experimental study was done to assess the effectiveness of planned teaching programme on knowledge of adolescents regarding gastritis and its prevention. The study was done among 60 adolescents in selected pre university colleges and stratified random sampling technique was used to select the sample. The results revealed that in the pre-test most of the adolescents (65%) had average knowledge whereas in the post test more than half (52%) secured very good knowledge. Statistically there was a significant difference between pre- and post-test score P<0.05. The study concluded that planned teaching programme is effective to improve the knowledge of adolescents regarding gastritis
