A Methodological Study on Development of Clinical Practice Guidelines on Eye Care (CPGE) on Critically Ill Patients Admitted in ICUs

Abstract


Eye care is an essential part of treatment of the critically ill patient, as various mechanisms normally encompassed in caring the eye from infection and injury are cooperated. Methodology: A developmental study was conducted involving Delphi technique in 3 phases. Result: Critical value of CVR according to Lawshe criteria for 11 panelists was 0.59. All items were having CVR value ≥0.59 so all the items were remained. Usability of CPGE revealed that it is beneficial for eye care of critically ill patients and cover all the components of eye assessment and care. Conclusion: CPGE tool is valid and reliable to prevent the eye infections and it can further be used in critical care areas.
