Assessment of the Achievement Motivation Level of BSc Nursing Students

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to assess the achievement motivation level of nursing students in a selected college, Kottayam, Kerala. The instruments used in this study were structured interview schedule to assess the variables and achievement motivation scale to assess the achievement motivation level of students. For assessing the achievement motivation level 60 students were selected by using purposive sampling technique. The findings revealed that, 1.67% (1) belong to moderate need for achievement, 95% (57) belong to average need for achievement, 3.33% (2) belong to moderately low need for achievement. None of them belonged to the category of high need for achievement and low need for achievement. Study shows that the obtained chi-square value, 4.8208 was significant which indicates that there is association between use of study groups effectively and achievement motivation level.
