Chemotherapy: A Vital Treatment in Cancer—A Mini Review

Abstract


The aim of this article is to focus on chemotherapy drugs, its classification, administration and side effects in detail. Chemotherapy is the most important and vital treatment part in various kinds of cancer. It helps to cure the cancer in certain types, and in few cancers, it helps to enhance the life comfortness of the patient. Examples of chemotherapy drugs are altretamine, bendamustine, busulfan, carboplatin, carmustine, chlorambucil, cisplatin, cyclophosphamide, carmustine, limestone and streptozotocin. Many chemotherapy drugs are available and it can be administered alone or with combination of other drugs. Also, chemotherapy drugs can cause many side effects such as alopecia, skin itching, digestive problems, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, fever, moth sore, pain and constipation, etc.
