Nursing Management of Bursitis
Abstract
Bursitis is commonly defined as inflammation of bursa. Bursa is sac like structures which is filled by the synovium. It is present in between bones, muscles, tenderness, ligament and exists in bony prominence as well as all over the body. The pain perception increases due to direct pressure upon the enlarged bursa. There are many causes of bursitis, including overuse injury, infectious disease, trauma, and inflammatory disorders. The term bursitis is denotes not only the inflammatory process but also includes swelling of bursa to other structures. There are many treatments are there to manage this condition include are nursing management-Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation and certain life style modifications.
