RESTLESS LEGS SYNDROME (RLS)

Monika .

Abstract

Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) is a neurological disorder characterized by unusual or powerful
urge to move legs especially at rest. It causes unusual sensations in the legs. RLS causes sleep
disturbances and leads to deprivation of sleep. RLS is more common among middle-age people,
twice more likely as in women than men. People with RLS have unusual and unpleasant

sensations in their legs. RLS is a life-long condition with no cure, but medications can help to
manage the symptoms. Hence, treatment focuses on life-style modifications.
