Research design was One group Pre-test and Post-test design. The data was collected from the students by Self-structured Questionaries. The multiple-choice questions including socio-demographic Performa were used to assess the level of Knowledge regarding Newborn care among the ANM 1st year students Collected data were analysed by using the Structured Interview Method among the ANM students.

A Chi-square test was done to analyse the association between the Post-test knowledge scores and the selected demographic variables. The study findings show that there is an association between the Post-test knowledge scores with all demographic variable p> 0.05 level is Significant.

In Pre-test shows that 60% of the students were having Moderate level,40% were having Inadequate level of knowledge regarding Newborn care among ANM students. After the Educational programme on Newborn care shows 75% of the students were having Adequate level of knowledge ,12% were having moderate and Inadequate level of knowledge. It reveals that the calculated “t‟ value is 7.521 higher than the table value (t39=1.340) at p<0.05 level of significance with the mean difference of 1.0250. It implies that the mean post-test knowledge score is significantly higher than the mean pre-test knowledge score. Hence H0 is rejected, there is a significant difference between Pre-test and Post-test level of knowledge regarding Newborn care among ANM I year students.
