Knowledge of Staff Nurse on Selected Obstetric Drugs

Abstract


A study to assess the effectiveness of self-instructional module on selected common obstetric drugs in terms of knowledge among the staff nurses working in selected district hospitals of Gujarat state was conducted using questionnaire to collect the demographic variables and knowledge level of the staff nurse regarding the drug. Effectiveness of the self-instructional module is assessed using the same questionnaire. Sixty samples were selected for the study with non-probability convenient sampling techniques. The mean pretest knowledge and posttest knowledge showed a mean difference of 9.97, which is greater than the tablet-value. Selected demographic variables like age and work experience in obstetric and gynecological departments have significant association with pretest knowledge scores of samples.
