Evaluate the Effectiveness of the Planned Teaching Program on the Menstrual Hygiene in Terms of Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice of the Adolescent School-Going Adolescent Girls at Lok Niketan Government School of Ranip, Ahmedabad

Abstract


Adolescent girls comprise a vulnerable group, especially in India, where female child is a neglected one. Menstruation is a unique phenomenon of the female. The onset of menstruation is one of the most important changes occurring among adolescent girls. The first menstruation occurs between the ages of 11 and 15 years with a mean of 13 years. Menstrual hygiene contracts with the special healthcare needs and requirements of women during monthly menstruation or menstrual cycle. A sample of 40 adolescent girls was selected for using purposive sampling technique. A structured knowledge questionnaire tool, structured attitude scale and a semi-structured practice tool were used to evaluate the knowledge, attitude and practice of the adolescent girls.
