A descriptive study to assess the depression among geriatric people in selected rural area of district Panchkula (Haryana)
Abstract
Objectives: To assess the knowledge regarding depression among geriatric people in selected rural area of district Panchkula(Haryana).
Methodology: A quantitative study by using descriptive design was used, a sample size of 50 geriatric peoplewere selected by using simple random Sampling technique, Semi structured questionnaire were used to assess the level of knowledge regarding depression among geriatric people in selected rural area of district Panchkula (Haryana).
Results: The study revealed that among 50 geriatric people the majority 48% of geriatric communications were in the age group of 60-75 years .88% were male 72% were from rural area. Majority (74%) of families’ monthly income was 0-10,000 had previous history of depression 44% of population was male, 56% of female.
