A Descriptive Study to Assess the Knowledge Among Patients With Diabetes Mellitus Regarding Foot Care In G.G.S Medical Hospital, Faridkot

Abstract


Diabetes mellitus is one of the most prevalent types of disease mostly in patients due to various causes. The incidence of diabetic foot problems increasing in developing world due to increase life expectancy, increased urbanization and adoption of western life style which ultimately effect the health status of people. The aim of the study was to assess the knowledge among patients with diabetes mellitus regarding foot care in G.G.S Medical Hospital,Faridkot .A descriptive study design was used for study. Purposive sampling was used to select 60 diabetic patients in G.G.S Medical Hospital, Faridkot .Data was collected using self structured tool. The findings of present study showed that 44(73.33%) of subjects had average knowledge, 9(15%) of subjects had poor knowledge and 7(11.67%) of subjects had good knowledge. Hence it was concluded that the maximum patients had average knowledge regarding foot care.
