Abstract

A quantitative quasi-experimental design was conducted among 60 IV Cannula patients. The demographic data by self-structured questionnaire, were collected from the samples, followed by that the pre-test was conducted by using phlebitis assessment scale. After a period of intervention with palm fisting exercise, post-test was done by using same phlebitis assessment scale. The results the study revealed that there is a significant change in the post-test level of phlebitis at the level of p<0.001 after the intervention among the samples. Thus, the present study proves that, palm fisting exercise highly effective method for thrombophlebitis for hospitalized patients.
