A Study to Assess the Knowledge and Express Practice of Post Kidney Transplant Patients Regarding the Dietary Management for COVID-19 in Selected Hospital of Ahmedabad with a View to Prepare an Information Booklet on Prevention of COVID-19

Abstract


Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic is currently the most pressing issue on a global scale. To combat viruses, a healthy nutritional state must be attained and maintained. A person's nutritional status is influenced by a number of variables, including age, gender, health status, way of life, and drugs. During this COVID-19 pandemic, the nutritional status of individuals has been exploited as a resilience against instability. Strengthening the immune system is the only sustainable approach to live in the current environment since optimal nutrition and dietary nutrient intake have an impact on it. Objective: To assess the knowledge and express practice of post kidney transplant patients regarding their dietary management; to find out the association between demographic variable and dietary management of post kidney transplant patients regarding their dietary management; and to develop information booklet regarding their dietary management. Material and Method: One group survey investigation was conducted using a descriptive research approach in a chosen hospital in Ahmedabad, with data collecting involving 100 patients who had undergone kidney transplants. Intervention: The informational brochure I provided with regards to the maintenance of the COVID-19 diet. Results: Using descriptive and inferential statistics, the collected data were examined and understood. The mean pre-test knowledge score was 19 with a standard deviation of and the statistical information booklet significance was determined using chi-square. The calculation of chi-square is 26.423 which is greater than tabled chi-square (12.59).Conclusion: information booklet is best way to provide information regarding dietary management among post kidney transplant patients for COVID-19.
