To Assess the Compliance and Reason for Non-Compliance to Life Style Modification Among Patients With Renal Calculi in Selected Settings in Chennai

Abstract


The present study was taken up to assess the compliance and reason for noncompliance to lifestyle modification among renal calculi patients in selected settings in Chennai. It was a descriptive study conducted among 60 renal calculi patients who are attending in the out patient department. The study result showed that 66.7% of the samples are having high compliance and 33.3% of the samples are having moderate compliance to life style modification, none of them are in low compliance. The reasons expressed were favourite item so cannot avoid, food is commonly preparing for all at home so they have to eat that only, unable to change their habit. There is a significant association between levels of compliance with marital status at 5% level. There is no significant association between the level of compliance with selected clinical history like age of diagnosis, history of reccurent recurrent renal calculi, duration of treatment, instruction received or not ,mode of instruction received ,others source of information.
