A Few Tips on Nursing Management of Orthopedic Surgeries

Abstract

Success of a surgery especially that of an orthopedic one depends greatly on the preparation of the patient pre-operatively and more so on the postoperative care. An orthopedic nurse is responsible for the majority of patient care and the quality of care is reflected in the outcome of the surgery. Nurses’ skills, interventions, attitudes, communication and continuity of care constitute the essential components of management of orthopedic patients.
